Challenger League

“You give the children an opportunity to be out there on the field. I think most special needs kids like a routine, and we don’t try to break that. Our routine is we show up on Sundays in the spring and we play baseball.”

--Larry Weisberg, former Challenger League Commissioner for the Oradell Little League

Oradell Little League manages our Challenger baseball teams that play mostly on Sundays.

The Challenger program enables children and young adults with special needs to play in a non-competitive baseball game with a supportive atmosphere where fun is the first priority.

The players socialize and improve their skills. Most players rely on a “buddy” to keep them interested and safe on the field. Any teenagers interested in serving as a “buddy” to our players should contact Challenger Commissioner, Bill Nahmias.
